This is a simple but time-consuming process and an example of off-site SEO. Once you have written the type of content that makes you proud, and you publish it, it’s not going to get read by itself. You need to spend a lot of energy in promoting it. Fortunately, there are some tools that help you automate some of these tasks, but you still need to put in some time into it.
Guest blogging is a great way of attracting new traffic, not only from the direct traffic you’ll receive via the “call to action”, but also the increase in organic traffic. Guest blogging leads to an improved backlink portfolio as you receive links from related reputable sites. Each of these backlinks count as a “vote” for your site leading to higher search engines results page (SERP’s) rankings.

Alas, there is no quick solution, especially when no one actually knows how Google’s search engine algorithm actually works. The strategies highlighted within this post are some of the better known strategies that improve your ranking chances. And, remember, whatever strategies you use will take time. Don’t expect a sudden increase in traffic if you tweak your SEO.
Writing a good piece of unique quality content will rank better in the search engines and it will also encourage people to like it, share it etc. People will not do that with your content if they see it as poor quality. Let’s be honest here, if you were reading something that you thought was pure garbage, would you read and share it? Of course you wouldn’t and neither would I.

Once you've set up an alert within Mention, go to your settings and then 'Manage Notifications'. From here you can select the option to get a daily digest email of any mentions (I'd recommend doing this). You also have the option of getting desktop alerts - I personally find them annoying, but if you really want to stay on the ball then they could be a good idea.

For example, someone may have mentioned my name in an article they wrote (“Matthew Barby did this…”) but they didn’t link to matthewbarby.com. By checking for websites like this you can find quick opportunities to get them to add a link.
